Sediqullah Atal made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Afghanistan against Pakistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on 27 March 2023. He opened the innings for Afghanistan and made 11 runs off 19 balls before getting out. 2 | |
On 29 July 2023, Sediqullah Atal wrote his name in the record books when he smashed 7 sixes in an over in a Kabul Premier League cricket match between Shaheen Hunters and Abasin Defenders. The over, bowled by Amir Zazai went for 48 runs as Atal hit the first ball (a no-ball) of the 19th over of the first innings for a six. Zazai then conceded five wides off the next ball before Atal smashed Zazai’s next six balls for consecutive sixes to help his side power past 200. Atal remained unbeaten on a 56-ball 118 with seven fours and ten sixes and helped Shaheen Hunters to notch up 213 for 6. In reply, Abasin Defenders were all-out for 121 in 18.3 overs and Shaheen Hunters won the match by 92 runs. 3
