Sadia Khateeb is an Indian actress and model known for Shikara (2020) & Raksha Bandhan (2022). She was born on September 18, 1997 in a muslim family to Alyas Khateeb and Shahida Khateeb in Jammu & Kashmir, India. She has a sister, Rumysa Khateeb and a brother, Atif Khateeb.
She started her career as a model while studying electrical engineering from Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) in Jammu. She got a call from casting director Indu Sharma to audition for the role of Shanti Dhar in Shikara (2020).
Sadia made her acting debut in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara (2020) opposite another debutant Aadil Khan. The story of the film was based on the love story of a Kashmiri Pandit couple in the backdrop of the Exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir. The film was released on 7 February 2020 and it received negative public reactions for portraying Kashimiri pandits' exodus in a very unrealistic manner. The lifetime collection of the film was only ₹8.15 crore and it was a huge box office failure.
She was also approached over a phone-call to star in Imtiaz Ali's Laila Majnu (2018) but she turned it down as she took it as a prank call.
She will be next seen in Aanand L. Rai's Raksha Bandhan (2022) as Akshay Kumar's sister alongside Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smrithi Srikanth. |
