Donna Gosling is the mother of famous Canadian actor Ryan Gosling and producer Mandi Gosling. She was married to Thomas Ray Gosling but they got divorced in 1993. Ryan and Mandi lived with Donna after the divorce.
She worked as a secretary but left her job to homeschool Ryan after he was suspended from the school, following an incident in which he took steak knives to the school and threw them at the other kids.
Ryan Gosling took his mom Donna Gosling and sister Mandi Gosling as his dates to the 2007 Academy Awards, where he earned his first nomination for Best Actor for his role in Half Nelson (2006).

In 2017, During an interview on The Graham Norton Show Ryan revealed that her mother Donna Gosling sported a beehive hairdo at the 2007 Academy Awards because one of her friend convinced her that beehives were gonna be all the rage and you'd feel embarrassed if you didn't have a beehive but it turned out to be the opposite as there was a natural hair vibe that year. Donna was sitting in front of Rachel Weisz and because of her hairs Rachel had to keep leaning to see in front of her beehive. To make her feel comfortable about her beehive hairstyle Ryan asked Meryl Streep to compliment Donna's hairs. Ryan said, "I didn't know what to do cause I was - I wanted to have a nice night, so I didn't knew Meryl Streep but she was sitting next to me and I said in a commercial break, 'Would you mind just telling my mom you like her hair?' and she was like, 'I got this,'" "And then the commercial went and she goes, 'Do you know, I was gonna do a beehive and I wish I had.' And my mom was like, raise the roof all night."
