RJ Anmol also known as Anmol Sood is an Indian Radio Jockey (RJ). He is one of the most celebrated RJs in the country and his radio show “Purani Jeans” was the one that got back the trend of retro music.
RJ Anmol was born on January 27, 1981 to Ajay Sood and Jyoti Sood in New Delhi, India. He also has a younger sister Ankita Sood who is an International Yoga Professional.
He completed his schooling at Ahlongon Public School, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi and later graduated with a degree in Marketing and Advertising from Times School of Marketing, New Delhi.
RJ Anmol married actress Amrita Rao after 7 years of dating on 15 May 2016 in Mumbai. The couple was blessed with a baby boy on November 1, 2020 and they named him Veer Sood.
The couple recently revealed on their YouTube channel that they kept their wedding a secret to make sure that the wedding news didn’t hamper Amrita’s career.
Amrita Rao revealed in an interview that prior to their marriage, RJ Anmol had asked her to quit acting so that they could focus on having a blissful personal life. “At that point, Anmol could see I was declining some huge movie offers only because I wasn’t comfortable doing kissing scenes and love-making sequences on screen. Hence, he thought it was the right time to focus on exploring a beautiful personal life and tying the knot. He did ask me to quit my career and I was completely shattered. However, in a day or two, he told me that in hindsight, he realised that demand was unreasonable and that he was sorry about it.” Amrita said.
In 2019, he launched a campaign to name one of Mumbai’s roads after legendary singer Mohammed Rafi. His campaign was successful and Bandra’s 16th Road was renamed as Mohd Rafi Marg.
