Bobby Deol also known as Vijay Singh Deol is an Indian actor. He was born on January 27, 1969 into a Punjabi Jat family to actor Dharmendra and his wife Prakash Kaur in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He has an elder brother, Sunny Deol and 2 elder sisters, Ajeeta Deol and Vijayta Deol.
Actress Hema Malini is his step-mother and actress Esha Deol and Ahana Deol are his half-sisters.
Actor Abhay Deol is his cousin.
He did his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later graduated with a degree in commerce from Mithibai College in Mumbai.
Bobby played the role of the younger version of his father in Dharam Veer (1977).
He made his acting debut as an adult in Rajkumar Santoshi's Barsaat (1995) opposite another debutant Twinkle Khanna. The movie was a box-office success and was the 5th highest-grossing movie of the year. Bobby won the filmfare award for Best Male Debut.
After that he appeared in several commercially successful films like Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997), Soldier (1998), Badal (2000), Bichhoo (2000), Ajnabee (2001), Humraaz (2002), Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004), Apne (2007) and Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011).
Bobby Deol got married to Tania Ahuja on May 30, 1996. The couple has 2 sons, Aryaman Deol and Dharam Deol.
His wife, Tania Ahuja is the daughter of Late Davendra (Dev) Ahuja, Owner of 21st Century Finance.
He named his younger son "Dharam" after his father, Dharmendra.
His mother wanted to name him "Inderneil Singh Deol" after Neil Armstrong who was the first man to walk on the moon but his aunt named him "Vijay".
Subhash Ghai wanted to launch Bobby Deol in Saudagar (1991) but his father, Dharmendra declined because he wanted to launch Bobby Deol in a home production.
He was in a relationship with actress Anjala Zaveri in 1997 when she was shooting for her debut him Himalay Putra (1997).
In 1994, Dharmendra selected a girl named Ajanamjot Grewal who was studying medicine at that time to marry Bobby Deol. Ajanamjot Grewal attacked a local beauty queen named Amrit Thandi with a metal pipe and she had to go through several surgeries to fix her face. Due to this incident and several other incidents, Bobby decided to breakup with Ajanamjot. Currently Dr. Ajanamjot Grewal works as a Gynecologist and Obstetrician in California, USA.
In 1995, Bobby Deol dated former model and actress Rakshanda Khan & Sunaina Sikand (Pran's granddaughter).
