IPL Career In October 2008, he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore as injured Jesse Ryder’s replacement for the Champions League Twenty20 and made his T20 debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils on 17 October 2009 at Bengaluru in the Champions League Twenty20. He was purchased by RCB for a mere INR 6 lakh. 12 13 RCB released Bhuvi in 2011 and he was picked up by the now-dissolved Pune Warriors India for INR 20 lakh. 14 In the 2014 IPL Auction, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 4.25 crores. 15 In IPL 2016, Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the purple cap winner with 23 wickets in 17 matches and played a big role in Sunrisers Hyderabad winning the title. 16 After a woeful IPL 2021 season in which he could pick only 6 wickets in 11 matches, Bhuvneshwar was released by the Sunrisers Hyderabad but they bought him again for INR 4.2 crores in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. 17 |
