Barbara Mori was born on February 2, 1978 to Yuyi Mori Robles and Rosario Ochoa in Montevideo, Uruguay. She has 2 siblings, a brother Kintaró Mori and a sister Kenya Mori. Her parents divorced when she was just three years old. She spent her early childhood between Mexico and Uruguay and finally settled in Mexico City at the age of twelve.
Her father, Yuyi Mori Robles was born to a Japanese father and a Uruguayan mother. While her mother, Rosario Ochoa is of Lebanese descent.
