| Andleeb was in the second year of college when she modeled for some of her seniors for a college project. One of her seniors suggested that she pursue modeling professionally. She was just 19 years old when she auditioned for the Femina Miss India beauty pageant in 2016. Zaidi was shortlisted and made it to the south zone. During the pageant, she wore a bikini for a photoshoot. One of her relatives took a screenshot of her bikini picture from the internet, printed it, and distributed the pictures within the family. This type of character assassination from her own relatives made her so upset that she ended up writing an open letter on Facebook titled, “Life of a Muslim Girl Turned Model.” The letter went viral, and she started receiving interview requests from all the leading news channels.
