Suryakumar Yadav is an Indian cricketer. He plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and represents Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Suryakumar Yadav was born on September 14, 1990 to Ashok Yadav and Sapana Yadav in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He also has a sister named Dinal Yadav.
He did his schooling from Atomic Energy Central School, Mumbai and later graduated with a degree in commerce from Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Mumbai.
His father Ashok Yadav worked as an electrical engineer for BARC.
His father enrolled him in a cricket camp in BARC colony in Anushakti Nagar after he saw his inclination towards cricket. He then went to Elf Vengsarkar Cricket Academy and received his cricket training from there.
He made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Delhi on December 15, 2010. He scored 73(89) & 7(24) in his first-class debut.
He received an IPL contract from Mumbai Indians for the 2012 season but he player just one match in the season and was dismissed without scoring any run in the match.
Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in the 2014 IPL auctions for ₹70 Lakhs.
Suryakumar Yadav got engaged to Devisha Shetty on May 29, 2016 and tied the knot in the same year on July 7, 2016 in the presence of their close family and friends.
In 2018 IPL auctions he was bought by Mumbai Indians at a price of ₹3.2 crores. He was retained by Mumbai Indians at a price of ₹8 crores ahead of 2022 IPL auctions.
He made his Twenty20 International debut for the Indian cricket on March 14, 2021 against England at Ahmedabad. He didn't got a chance to bat in his debut match.
Suryakumar Yadav hit the first ball he faced in international cricket for a six on March 18, 2021 against England and became the first indian cricketer to do so in Twenty20 International. He went on to score 57 runs of just 31 balls in the match.
He made his ODI debut for India on July 18, 2021 against Sri Lanka at Colombo and scored quick 31 runs of just 20 balls and remained not-out.
